There’s a unique magic that unfolds when you arrive somewhere and instantly feel the weight of the world lift off your shoulders. That’s exactly how I felt stepping into Hammock Cove this past November. Join me as I review this amazing resort.
The moment we stepped into the lobby, the calming scent and open air enveloped me in a wave of tranquility. It was peaceful and quiet, a perfect antidote to the noise of everyday life. We were warmly greeted, as we were handed welcome cocktails and invited to settle in. Wandering the lobby, I found myself lost in the view of the gorgeous beach and the ocean beyond. Before I knew it, we were told our golf cart awaited to whisk us to our villa — where the check-in would actually happen — I knew this trip was going to be special. We got a mini tour of the ground on our way before making the final stop in front of our home away from home. And then, walking into our Waterview Villa? Honestly, my heart just stopped.
Enter Private Villa - Our 1,100 sq ft dream hideaway. Vaulted ceilings, a king-sized bed perfect for sinking into, and an outdoor living space would entice anyone to never leave. Our private pool more than large enough for 2, accompanied by a swing, lounge chairs, and a wet bar stocked to the brim with top-shelf spirits and several bottles of chilled wine and champagne. Inside, the bathroom felt like an HGTV dream come to life—dual rain showers, bench seating, and a walk-in closet. It was my sanctuary, the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. I'm not sure words will do it justice.
Our villa felt like a private paradise. Nestled behind palms and lush green foliage, it offered the ultimate seclusion. We could see a small slice of the ocean, but we really valued having the extra privacy compared to some of the other villas. We spent afternoons sipping champagne in our private pool, napping on our loungers, ordering room service and ending the days watching the sunsets paint the sky.
Days melted by as we lounged on floating water hammocks in the ocean, chatting with new friends made along the way, indulging in delicious food and drinks. Which reminds me- the beach drink service? Pure heaven. No need to even leave the ocean (and YES, I said OCEAN) —the servers waded over in the water, taking orders and delivering cocktails. I have never had this experience, and it was incredible and they were quick, too!
Dining at Hammock Cove was an exquisite journey unto itself. The jewel was undoubtedly the Lighthouse’s 7-course tasting dinners. The chef personally curated each dish and paired wines thoughtfully—not only did we enjoy the included wines, but the special wine pairing list was tempting for those seeking more. The chef’s stories, his passion for his craft and his connection with the wine partner, added layers of warmth and authenticity to every bite.
November at Hammock Cove felt like a storybook scene — warm days kissed by breezes that were just right, with evenings cool, but just warm enough. Quiet moments were plentiful, the entire resort exuding a quaint, laid-back vibe that lulled you into pure relaxation. But there were bars open in the evening to get some drinks and socialize a bit.
I must sing praises to the staff for all they did and do every day. They went above and beyond in every way possible, genuinely caring and creating connections that made this experience feel truly personalized and uplifting.
For anyone planning a visit, here are a couple of insider nuggets: Bring a good book but also browse the villa library—take a book, leave a book. If you’re traveling with a late flight, reserve the resort's bathroom and shower room in advance so you can freshen up before heading out—trust me, this is a game changer. And lean on your villa ambassador; theirs is the key to unlocking all the best dining reservations and experiences.
Ultimately, Hammock Cove is a haven for couples seeking peace and togetherness away from the hustle of life. It’s calm, it’s elegant, and it’s designed to foster quiet moments shared with loved ones. The resort attracted a wonderfully versatile crowd, but it’s the stillness and intimacy that truly shine.
If you’re craving a break that’s luxurious, heartfelt, and filled with unforgettable sunsets and endless relaxation, this little cove is a must.
